Who is Your Star?

Who is the one you turn to first when life has left you cold,
the one who tells you "Keep it up, your story's not yet told."
Who is the one still by your side while your love falls apart,
and all that's left within your soul is someone else's heart.
Who is the one that takes the hit when you are feeling mad,
then pulls you closer anyway and lets you just be sad.
Who is the one who holds the line while you go diving in,
to places you will soon regret and wish you'd never been.
Who is the one that can be heard above all other sound,
who feeds you with the wisdom to maintain a stable ground.
Who is the one that knows you well enough to be your voice,
when you are left unable to speak up and state your choice.
Who is your star that leads the way out of each empty night,
to hopeful scenes of new found dreams, the one providing light.

My husband, most definitely.

Beautiful writing, by the way.

I'm happy to have read your post because today I've had a few issues with my husband and reading your post makes me appreciate him more than I have.

Thank you.

Hi Kayla,

You have some lovely poetry here! This is a really nice poem about the power of love and friendship. You can take a look at my blogs below. I'm writing 365 sonnets myself and I love your fourteeners, couplets, etc. Keep up the great writing!
