Last Chance

A chance to tell a lifetime of both tears and happiness,
confessing to a stranger that you're showing them much less
of what they really mean to you and how you feel inside,
the way you want to be yourself but frightened you must hide.
A chance to walk a mile when you couldn't take a step
outside the walls you built yourself in which your heart was kept
away from those who couldn't dance the rhythm it would beat,
from those who chose to stand in awe awaiting your defeat.
A chance to make a difference in the lives of those like you,
the souls connected to the space you've lived you're whole life through
with pain and sadness carrying the bags of stolen time,
you have it now to give away, to tell them all is fine.
A chance to bring the essence of the world back to its core,
and reach out to the rest of them who know there must be more.
